Leo Exter http://be.linkedin.com/in/exter is the founder of http://westartup.eu, a social network of over 1,700 entrepreneurs, co-founders, mentors and investors. He’s also a partner at HealthStartup http://healthstartup.eu, a growing European community of healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs, and a coach at MIC Brussels Boostcamp, an acceleration program for digital entrepreneurs. In his spare time, Leo is also one of the organizers of Startup Weekend Brussels, Bizcamp Belgium and co-founder of BetaInvesthttp://www.betainvest.be/, part of BetaGroup ASBL.
In his past life he did very well as a marketer in FMCG (The Coca-Cola Company), played his role in a miserable failure at a dot-com (Info2clear), made quite a splash in consumer tech (Mio Technology) and found that PR wasn’t his thing at a PR agency (Grayling).
To Leo, failure is an integral part of process of starting a business. First-time fantastic success happens of course to some outstanding individuals – but for the mere mortals the path to success is all about trying something, failing at it, figuring out what went wrong, changing that, and trying again.
